Every Now and Then…

I hear a song that gets me where few others do, or can. This one did and does.
Wow.
(The note I got said this girl was 7. Judging by the absence of her two front teeth, I’d say that’s right.)
P.S. If I get hit by a truck tonight and you all send me home tomorrow (I’m not planning on going anywhere but in a very real sense I’m not in control of when I leave, so...) please ask two people to sing at my going home party: Vince Gil singing “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and this girl.
the link doesn’t work. :(
Wow… Incredible!
The link didn’t work for me but I figured out that it was trying to point to http://www.vimeo.com/12348372.
Thanks for posting…
Saw this earlier. Amazing!
Amen…
My brother fell in love with this little girl & her story a month or so ago, he & friends contacted her dad & arranged for her to come to our little bitty town in Oklahoma later this month—come on over if you like REALLY hot (supposed to be 107 today!)
Rhema & her dad certainly have a story of pain & of “what do we do now,” as does my brother ... maybe you SHOULD come.
(Love your books - since a friend pointed you out earlier this month, I’ve read 5 of them - could you please write faster? <g>)
I was so excited to dig up your blog from Google! A wonderful thing, technology.
Mom bought me “When Crickets Cry” a couple years ago and I read it almost in one sitting, it drew me in, bringing this taste to my mouth like the kind that you get when you eat a piece of dark chocolate. The way you describe scenes is amazing; I feel like I’m standing in my kitchen or dipping my hands in cool water or holding a paper plate “that felt like it weighed five pounds.” I’ve read most of your books, still trying to find the one I haven’t enjoyed yet. I can’t help but wonder how much like your characters you act like, in ‘real life’?
I would also like to do a review for one of your books; I noticed you enjoy reading what other people have to say about them. The only one I currently own is Crickets as I mentioned above, and it would be unsolicited material: I certainly don’t work for any company. I thought it would be a rather interesting spin if you, the author, actually wanted me, a reader, to review one of your books, whether for personal enjoyment or out of plain curiousness. The review might reach a grand total number of 10, maybe 11 views. :-) That would be with spreading it around. I’m somewhat of a green writer when it comes to promotion, but I enjoy writing book reviews and if you think it would add something to your day, I would be honored to review one of yours.
In any case, your writing has really blessed me and I can’t wait until your next book comes out! Keep up the amazing work!
God bless,
-Lindsey
I’m with you, Charles. Wow, of course, about this seven year old belting out Amazing Grace like she’d been experiencing and singing it for 10,000 years ...
But also about Vince Gill’s GO REST HIGH. Chills and tears everytime I hear it. It’s on my homegoing celebration list, right alongside Mary Chapin Carpenter’s JUBILEE. You have great taste.
Anybody know how to prevent a double kitchen sink from backing up when you wash dishes? The drain goes into the wall directly behind one of the sinks...and when we rinse dishes the suds will back through the drain line into the other sink. Any suggestions that are not like re-plumbing the drain?Viking stove repair
My Mom has been after me for almost a year to read The Dead Don’t Dance and I just kept putting it off until I had finished another series. I have to say that this book was one of the most amazing stories I have ever read. I laughed and cried and now I am starting Maggie. I look forward to reading all of the Charles Martin books.
Wow! Totally welled up with tears; what a gift that girl has been given!
It’s 2am and I just finished The Mountain Between Us. I just could not put it down until I finshed it. I have to say, I never saw the ending coming out like it did. I loved the book!!
ALL of your books call for late night reading. I can hardly stop until I finish!! A friend in my Sunday School class recommended your books to me. First I read Wrapped In Rain and have been “hooked” since then. I’ve read them all now and can’t wait for your next one. Looking forward to whatever it will be. You have a God-given talent! Thanks for sharing it through your books.
Unbelievable................
Charles,
A million thanks. I first heard shaped note singing outside a church in Cade’s Cove, TN in the 1950s. I can still hum the hymn, though the name is gone. And this beautiful child! What pipe, diction, phrasing, truth! Tears.

I get tired of thinking, I just want to be........there’s so much more to life than what I think.
Before I know it my mind takes over again as if fearful of losing ground. I get lost in my day dreams as long as possible. I’m happy existing and creating there.
