#19 in Italy

Christy and I have just returned from 10 days in Italy. On book tour, if you can believe it. I’ll post some pictures and write more about it later in the week (my next deadline is breathing down on me) but I wanted to at least send this update:
Where the River Ends is #19 on Italy’s Bestseller list.
Congratulations on making the top 20 in Italy! I hope you had a great time there. I’ve been wanting to go for awhile and hopefully one day it’ll happen. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your talk at the Festival of Reading in St. Pete. It’s always nice to connect a real person to the picture on the back of a book. I’m also happy to know that I’m not the only one who had trouble with Chemistry in High School. I’ve been reading your books since the first one came out and have loved them all. One of my co-workers (I’m a librarian) asked me why I like your books so much and I had a difficult time trying to describe why. I finally told her that they make me feel like I’m sitting in a hammock in my backyard, looking through the trees toward the lake. I know that that sounds a bit corny, but that’s the best way I could sum it up. I’m eagerly waiting upon your next novel (as are my several of my friends). Your readers probably want you to finish it even faster than your publisher does. Thanks again not only for entertaining us, but also for spending what little extra time you have to come to book talks and book festivals.
