Christy told me I needed to do this. Currently, I have zero friends. Sort of makes me wonder.
I just had to comment and tell you i’m in a book club that meets monthly. We have read every book you’ve written! We absolutely love your books! Thank-You for all your hard work producing books that clearly articulate Christ! I love all of the detail you put into each book! You always make us (in book club) think deeper and derive biblical perspective! Now we just need more books:) This month were going over Where The River Ends! Looking forward to more! Blessings to you! Hope Coppola
About seven months ago, I took a survey on spiritual gifts and discovered that one of mine is the gift of writing. I wondered at the time if writing truly is a spiritual gift. You prove that it is. I have a BA in English and have been a middle school English teacher for the past five years. I know good writing when I see it...and yours is truly amazing. I discovered your books about two months ago and have loved every one. I’m currently reading Chasing Fireflies and already have my copy of Where the River Ends just tempting me in its desire to be read. I will be sad when I finish that book and know that there are no others books of yours to be read...so please keep writing! And thank you for sharing your gift with the world. God Bless.
Not true, you have 2 friends on the NC coast! Listen to your wife, she is wise. Most my friends would rather read your books than mine - what’s up with that?! Tell Christy hello for me and hope to see yall sometime before we’re all old and grey!
Looks like we joined FB at about the same time. Welcome, and I’m sure you’ll have a slew of friends as soon as the word gets out.

Dear Mr. Martin,
I just finished reading Maggie...whoa ...so ..so exciting. I laughed, gasped, cried and reflected. I really enjoy your books. I have now completed reading all your books. Maggie was the last one on my list. I first discovered youin the Goodwill store and was attracted to the title When Crickets Cry… I am a nature lover so this intrigued me. Well I was not at all prepared to be hooked in just the first few pages but I was...not only on that story but all your others.
I am writing to first thank you for your stories and to thank your wife for encouraging you to pursue your dream. I also wanted to know if we will see Maggie and Dylan in any further stoires. I felt sad when I finished reading Maggie and thought perhaps you might share with your readers another chapter in their life story. I hope you will. Having read all your novels now I hope and pray you are working on another one. I found myself praying for you as I finished reading Maggie. I love that you share your faith but it is not a in your face kind of thing. So, add me to your list of friends. I, too live on the coast. Again thank you for sharing your stories and yourself in them.
I look forward to your next novel . May the Lord bless you oand keep you and Make His face to shine upon you. And one more thing my pastor always shares and I want to pass to along to you..Faith is spelled R I S K.
Blessings on you and your family.
Please keep writing.

Hello Charles. I just finished Where the River Ends. It was so fabulous. Now I’m hooked so will be online ordering all your other books. I’ll catch you on facebook. Thanks so much and take care!
You broke my heart with your “no friends” comment. Since I am likely closer to the age of your mother, I will just pat you on the shoulder with a “there, there...it will be O.K.”
I look forward to reading your book.
Lin (you can call me Mom)
It is Mom again. I just read other comments and now realize that your writing includes Christ. I am even more excited to get my copy. I am going to read it and then tell everyone I know--and I my age, I know a lot of people. It helps, too, that I am involved in several massive online couponing groups.
Good luck to you...and cherish that very wise woman you married.

Almost done reading Where the River Ends and loving it. I was wondering about the prologue, did you go back and write it after the book was done or as a beginning? Did you draw upon anything from personal experience in those conversations or are they just things you remember from other conversations, or things that just came to mind as thoughts flowed from you? Thank you and I cannot wait to read more of your writing and share my find with friends. Randy
So excited about the new book! I’m always excited to know you have a new book coming out. After reading about your journey since Where the River Ends, I believe I will appreciate your new work even more. Send me that book you scrapped if you want a second opinion. :) I can’t imagine you writing anything I wouldn’t want to read. Blessings to you and thanks for the gift of your stories.
Charles,
Thanks for the wonderful stories! I was hooked on your writing when I picked up “When Crickets Cry” because I live near Clayton, Georgia and heard the book was set in the area. What a find for me! I have loved all your books and can’t wait for the next one! I don’t know how many people I’ve told about them - they seem to speak to people who read them in whatever way we each need them to.
Before moving to NE GA, I lived in Jacksonville for 10 years (1995 - 2005). My family lived on Weller Avenue in the old Clifton neighborhood. You look very familiar to me, so maybe I ran across you during my time down there. It IS a small world sometimes!
Anyway, kiss your wife for being your supporter and inspiration, hug your kids and keep spending quality time with them, and continue to write your wonderful books for your fans!
Love your books....all of them. I live in Valdosta, Ga. and your books really come to life when I read in them about all the places that I know so well. My family and I recently visited Atlantic Beach and I picked up a signed copy of Where The River Ends....could not put it down. Thanks for the great stories.
Hi from St. Augustine, Florida! Finished reading Where the River Ends last week and wanted to let you know that it’s a beautiful story. That’s the love that we all want to find. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and if you happen to know any other Doss’ - send them my way.
After having read hundreds of books, my all time favorite is “ Wrapped in Rain .” I have bought copies for relatives and friends. As others have said your writing keeps me thinking long after I have finished reading your books. Your detailed descriptions set you apart from other writers, and you seem to really think through what you want to get across to the reader. Thank you, and I sincerely hope you continue to share your writing abilities.
i love face book
I just finished reading “When Crickets Cry” and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a left a little unsettled not knowing what he whispered into her heart to start it beating. I am thinking it was the bible verse engraved on her sandal necklace. I cannot find that verse, although I believe it was from Ezekiel. I would love to know what he whispered. Will someone please tell me?
I understand your information go and get more friends in FB or give your id and i will connect you to the FB and keep up the good work....
