Three articles updating the progress on “The Mountain Between Us” movie. (FOX has attached a Director.)
Tell Gerardo I said to get to crackin’ - there’s a movie to be made, and I can’t wait to see it.
Congrats!
This is GREAT news! I hope they stay true to the book since it was great as written. I will be interested to see who the main actors are going to be!
Matt Damon and Kate Beckingsale!
So glad to know it’s still “in the works”! I’ve recruited 2 new fans for you in the past couple months...both of them are begging for another of your books when they bring back the ones they’ve read! I think a movie of “The Mountain Between Us” will prompt many more to read all of your books...’cause who could stop at just one?!
Congratulations, Mister Martin.
Did you get to approve the big screen adaptation of your book prior sealing deal? I hope so.
Blessings.
Can’t wait to see this as a movie. This all-nighter book was Charles’ best yet. Drama, suspense, love, surprise ending—everything. Hope they don’t deviate from the book as written. They can’t do any better! Awesome news.
Hurry! I can’t wait! I can only hope they will use the contents to mirror the book. I can’t think of anything they could leave out.
I just downloaded this e-book (and two of your other books) for my Kindle this weekend after reading _When Crickets Cry._ You’re a very gifted writer. I’m glad a friend recommended I read you! I hope the movie stays true to the book, and I hope it brings you more readers, too.
There’s not a Charles Martin book been written that doesn’t deserve it’s own movie...as long as it remains faithful to the book. Before I read my first Charles Martin book, James Michael Pratt was my favorite author, followed closely by Nicholas Sparks. Where tragedy always marks a Nicholas Sparks novel, Charles Martin redeems tragedy - a portrait of how God creates something beautiful out of evil. James Michael Pratt has been called the master of moral fiction, but Charles’ novels seem more real than fiction.
I’m from the South, and so I can identify with the South Charles describes in his novels. My wife, who is from Nebraska, read The Help, but she didn’t want to see the movie because it wasn’t anything she had ever experienced. I hope that those who aren’t from the South can appreciate the love we Southerners have for our part of the world. It’s been said that Southerners know how to tell a story, and no one is better at it than Charles Martin.
Thunder and Rain is sitting in my Amazon cart waiting for it’s release in a couple of weeks. The saddest part of any Charles Martin novel is when you read the last sentence and close the book. Please keep the stories, and the movies coming, Charles.
I love all your books and await the next one with great anticipation. Being a Christian, I hope the movie for “A Mountain Between Us” will be tastefully done without T&A;, so families can go see it together and not have those “moments” where you want to crawl under your chair. We see enough of that stuff everywhere! If you have input, I feel it will be the best movie ever! Thanks to you, Charles, and your family, for sharing book material that is written beautifully and heart touching. I would love the opportunity for you and Richard Paul Evans to collaborate on a book together and have a book co-signing to include Roanoke, VA. May God continue shining on you and your family.
Absolutely loved The Mountain Between Us and Thunder and Rain!! What a wonderful writer!!
as a native of jacksonville. love all the local flavor in the mountain between us. loved this book! something for everyone. looking forward to the new book.
My husband and I love all your books and look forward to the movie. We hope the book
won’t be changed too much for the movie.
We travel a lot and would love to have more of your books on CD. They are all wonderful.
God Bless You!
Kay
As I was reading this book I thought “What a great movie this would make!”...I can’t wait to see it...this was truly a wonderful book.
Just finished Thunder and Rain and loved it. Please, please write another book soon. I hated to read the last sentence because now I’ve read everything you’ve written so far. You’re my favorite author!
I hope that this movie will be a huge success and that every other Charles Martin novel is made into a movie. Thunder & Rain is outstanding, but the Awakening series will elicit so much emotion from the audience. You know, that would be a good thing - for people to go to the movies and see men the way God created them to be. Set that bar high so we can stop settling for mediocrity.
I have recommended your books to so many friends I feared you had given up writing since your books aren’t always available here at Barnes & Noble, and only one or two of your first books can be found hidden away with the Christian fiction. I’m a Christian but I think your books should be out there with the bestsellers. I’m looking forward to your new novel and will ask for it immediately (even if it’s now out yet). I’ll look forward to the movie. It should be a blockbuster.
Can’t wait to see this movie. Charles Martin is my new favorite author!!! Love the Christian under tones in all his books!
I loved Thunder and Rain, and can’t wait for the other two to come out. I hate reading that last page, and knowinf it will be a year before another book is released.
You just about killed me with the Mr. B thing....no more details for those who haven’t read it yet!
I just discovered your books and I LOVE them!! The Mountain Between Us was amazing and I’m thrilled to hear a movie is in the works; I certainly hope it comes to fruition. Currently reading Down Where My Love Lives. Great story-telling.
