Charles, I just finished reading The Mountain Between Us! On page 120 you say “Something about the enormity of that touched me ‘down where words don’t live’. This expresses my feelings about this truly amazing piece of writing.
I have to tell you, that the intentsity of the 2 story lines, got uncomfortable at times, yet invited me to keep going, kind of like Ben and Ashley’s journey down the mountain.
So in a way, I’m sort of happy that the book in between didn’t make, cause this one was a homerun in every way.

I can hardly wait for the next book.

You are a very skilled writer, and I certainly appreciate the depth of your feelings and how you can speak them out in the heart and mind of your character.

I didnt think Charles could get any better until I read The Mountain Between Us. I could not put this book down. Charles has a way with words that I think is spectacular. This is book is full of adventure, sitting on the edge of your seat action and love. He is such a sweet guy and you can feel the love he has for his wife and family in his writing. Oh to have this talent. Keep up tyhe good work.

I stayed up all night to finish “The Mountain.” Wonderful story.  Only problem with your books is that I cannot find them in the library or in bookstores.  Am not Amazon user but will be forced to do so.  There are are 5 of them that I must find.  Hope to be a reader for a long, long time.

I began reading Charles Martin’s When Crickets Cry in January as a “recommendation” to me from Amazon. Wanted to read another ASAP. My 2nd was Where the River Ends. I just finished The Mountain Between Us last night (having read it in a day!). Each book, very different, has given me a lot to ponder - wanting each to never end. Humor, suspense, reality, compassion, inspiration, forgiveness and love - amazing! Now we need to get Charles Martin to California for book signings!

I just finished The Mountain Between Us and wanted to say how awesome it was!!!  To me, I know a book is good when I turn each page with equal anticipation to find out what happens next and sadness that I’m one page closer to the end.  Seriously, I didn’t want it to end.  And the surprise ending...totally didn’t see that coming.  You surprised me with Chasing Fireflies too, but this one really laid a whammy.  I used to work in the bookstore in Boone and met you when you came there for a signing for Dead Don’t Dance.  I have been hooked on your books ever since.  Can’t wait for the next one.  I’ll be getting it as soon as it hits shelves.  Thank you so much for sharing your talent!!

Keep doing Charles! You’re our favorite author. My husband has reread quite a few of your books. Each book keeps you in suspense to the very end.  Lots of twist and turns. Thanks for sharing your gift.

I finished your book The Mountain Between us afew days ago.  It was worth the wait.  I was kind of pissy about you not having a book last year and putting the two books together was a clever marketing strategy but it sucked for those of us who have already read all your books.  I read your book in just a couple of days.  I seriously had a hard time putting it down.  I felt like Ashley in the book, some things us girls just can’t seem to do.  We don’t havethe strength or just the know how and we must rely on someone else.  It is frustrating at best but I loved the genuine sincerity of Ben.  And how Grover was still present in the story even through his death.  I like how you showed us in a just a few seconds we can make a decision that will affect our entire lives.  We seem to forget this very true concept by living our lives like we have an eternity to get it right.  Thanks for the great read and also for your blog about the rejection you had between books.  Lets just say it got me over my pissy attitude to you right away.
